Wednesday 5/30 Day 40
This morning spent some time chatting with chip over breakfast. He shared a bit of his past with me. It is fun to see how our relationship has developed from kid with adult to adult and adult. In talking with him he reminded a lot of the ideas we used in wilderness therapy. Only to can take care of yourself and change what you want Changed. And one of my favorite quotes came up, "be the person you want to be" Nelson Mandela. It is amazing how much potential and power we have when we take control and stop blaming others or expecting others to change our current situations.

We had a few errands today, the bike shop and the Mall of America. At the shop I picked up a couple new bike tubes. I'm so amazed I have never gone through so many tires in my life. Well understandable, I have been biking quite a few miles. Then after the bike shop we wen to the Mall of America. At first while parking I reminded me of the signfeld where they get lost in the parking garage and they could not find Jerry's car. The parking garage was so big! Then imagine a place where all the fast food and all the stores that you could think of all in one place. That was here. Along with roller coasters and a little theme park in the center of it. I believe it was three or four stories tall and filled with stores, and looking to expand. There is an airport right outside with hotels so people can fly in cheep and shop and then fly home. Just over looking the mall all I could think of was that this could only be found in America. Sadly I forgot my camera so if you were looking to see it you will just have to go yourself!

I did find some Qdoba which I had for lunch, the first time in almost a year! I missed one in south Dakota so ever since I have been on the look out. Chip was amazed on how big the burrito was and could not believe I ate it all. We also stopped at the apple store to get a cover for my iPod, stopped at best buy for DVDs, and The Harley Davidson store to see if we could get some leather for my ride. Nope to expensive, but it looked sweet. Although the Mall of America is very touristic it is one of those places that is neat to see once. On the way home I fell asleep in the car haha. Speaking of cars, it is a bit weird riding in one now things go so fast in them. And the distance between cities seem so far away, I see ten miles and I think oh that's an hour away. It really is a whole new perspective of travel on the bike.
For dinner Julie made some brauts where we pigged out. And in the evening Chip and I retreated to the theater to watch the mummy returns.
Hi Jeff, really enjoying your trip from the comfort of 5435 W Leawood Dr. Thanks for sharing your adventures.
