Tuesday 5/29 Day 39

I love days off. I can have an even slower start to the morning. Stay in bed and read a bit, or type some blogs. And that's what I did I laid in bed and read my book. This book has really made me look at how I carry myself as a person and how society carries itself. One thing is for sure I will make sure I teach my kids how to be self sufficient and the ability to work with others. It all comes down to the idea of balance.

St Paul
Well one thing that happens during the mornings around here is a viewing of Will & Grace, tv show. Its one of Julie's favorite shows. It brings a few good laughs and by the end of the stay I was getting addicted. For breakfast Chip made me his classic breakfast. Eggs bacon cheese on a bagel with a cold glass of milk. :). One thing I have really appreciated here is all the milk we drink and the frosty glass it comes in. After breakfast we got ready for the day.
We headed out to Chips boat first today. Our original plan was to go on the river but it was to high from the rains and it was a bit windy. So we decided to pass. We just went out there to make a measurement on the boat. His boat was called Chips Ahoy. Haha.

Chip's Plane
So Chip works at the air traffic control tower at St Paul airport, has been there for a while and has been on his last year of work for over five years now :). He's been saying he is gong to retire for the last few years so now we don't believe It until he does. But it is hard because It is a good job! He gave me and Julie a tour around the facility. We went up into he tower and to the catwalk around the tower. He gave us a run down of all the positions in the tower, and some of the different call signs. We got to see the radar. We did not see any planes land, the airport tactic has dropped significantly in the past years.

The Tower
After the airport we drove through the city and saw a couple of the places where Chip ran his marathons. He has done It three times and is looking to do another one someday. Working with some tight tendons that are giving him some trouble when he runs. We finished off the afternoon with some hamburgers from champs, I was starving.
Now we watched a a movie for desert. Most places you would watch it on a tv, but at Chips he has created a special area downstairs. A movie theater for three people. With a selection of movies o almost anything one could think of. I made the selection of Cinderella Man. Great movie, sad and happy. A great way to wind up he day.
